Environmentally Friendly Plant Pots
Vipots are unique biodegradable pots. Vipot are husk fibres plant pots that are made from the by-products of annual crops such as rice and other grain crops.
The pots are formed and then coated with a vegetable varnish that acts as a seal and this protects them from degrading whilst in use. It is only when the seal is broken that the post begin to degrade.
Therefore the pots are biodegradable and all you have to do is break them into small pieces and put into the compost bin. They will then fully biodegrade in 9 to 18 months. Whilst degrading they do not have any detrimental effect on the environment.
The pots consist of two main grades:
Grower range where they are designed to have a life expectancy of approximately 2-3 years whilst they remain in tact.
Ornamental range where they have been formed to last 4 years or more if the remain in tact.
